Jahrhunderts sein in England führendes Werk zum Konfliktrecht, dem John Bassett Moore eigene Anmerkungen zu amerikanischen Urteilen zum Internationalen Privatrecht anfügte. Moore, der Professor für internationales Recht an der Columbia Universität in New York war, sorgte für diese englisch-amerikanische Ausgabe und “has appended to each of the leading chapters of this Digest a statement of American law on the subject therein dealt with, and has given the authorities, ans especially the most recent American decisions, with support the conclusions at which he has arrived” (Preface). Albert Venn Dicey (1835-1922), initially a barrister before becoming professor for English law in Oxford in 1882 and later in London at the School of Economics, published at the end of the 19th century his seminal work on conflict of laws, to which John Bassett Moore added his own notes about American judgments on international private law. Moore, who was professor for international law at Columbia University in New York, was responsible for this Anglo-American edition and “has appended to each of the leading chapters of this Digest a statement of American law on the subject therein dealt with, and has given the authorities, and especially the most recent American decisions, with support the conclusions at which he has arrived” (Preface).
